A computer enlargement of picture 1, this view shows that the Tennessee Store was operating in the Smith building. Notice the building in the foreground, next to the Tennessee Store, with the inscription RES (Restaurant?). Note also that the Tennesse Store sign was double-sided and subsequent photos show that the name of the store was spelled correctly on the other side of the sign. According to the Alex Tribune, in October 1908, Sheb Alexander proposed that sidewalks be built. These sidewalks were likely not finished until 1909 or even 1910, and are not present in this picture, adding to the possibility that this photo was taken circa 1908-1909.
