Likely the oldest photo of Alex provided for this project to date, this picture is scanned from a photocopy, thus the lack of detail. Neither the Alex Tribune nor any other source of information mentions the Tennessee Store. Research into Alex residents originally from Tennessee yielded no clues as to who may have operated this store or when it was located on Main Street. The Tennessee Store was next door to Bednar's Hardware and Implements, which burned in 1912 and was rebuilt elsewhere. This picture appears to have been taken in 1908 or 1909. It is looking north, toward the river.
